I´m a footy fan aswell. I´m going to watch as many games as I can.

There are so many good teams this year that it´s almost impossible to predict anything but I gave it a go anyway. I divided the teams into 5 groups based on their strength. It´s all my opinion though.

1. Most likely to win - Germany, Portugal, Spain
   
2. Capable of winning - France, Czech Republic, Italy, Croatia, Holland
   
3. Capable of doing well but not quite going all the way - Romania, Sweden, Russia
   
4. Not so hot teams - Switzerland, Turkey, Greece, Poland
   
5. Austria

Ofcourse any one of the teams can surprise in both positive and negative way. I hope that Spain will win.

Nice way of hinting that the Brits aren´t really Europeans.

Hello. Sorry for disturbing your peace with this thread but this has been bugging me for a while now. Why, oh why, do so many people use "of" instead of "have" or "´ve"? I don´t know why but that annoys me even more than the lack of punctuation or serious spelling mistakes. I seriously want to slap anyone using it that way. I know that sometimes some spelling mistakes become allowed in a language once they´ve been used enough. Maybe this has happened in this case too already. I hope not though. And it seems to be affecting the Brits and Aussies most. Guys that otherwise have perfect spelling and make useful and reasonable posts but to me "of" sticks out like a big red flashing light. Maybe I´m just weird. Anyway, don´t hold a grudge. Peace.

I´m not saying Webber is rubbish. I´m saying your statement that Alonso is being dominated by Webber and Red Bull is much inferior to Renault is rubbish.

Besides Webber was only 1 point ahead of Alonso before Monaco which was a wet race where anything could happen. Alonso may be an **** but he is still one of the fastest drivers in F1 and since he is being beaten by Webber and he´s teammate is always on the back of the grid I would say that Red Bull is a better car than Renault.

Seeing as Alonso absolutely smashes Piquet in the same car and Piquet is always way back, I wouldn´t call Red Bull inferior to Renault at all. If anything Red Bull is a better car than Renault imo.

(Or it could be that Piquet is totally incompetent and shouldn´t be in F1.)

About luck. Atleast Manu scored a goal themselves. Chealsea´s goal was lucky. Two deflections, Van Der Sar slipping and Lampard being in the right place. Now if that´s not luck then I don´t know what is.

About the refs. Drogba´s sending off was so late in the game that it didn´t really change the outcome. I only noticed a few (rather obvious) mistakes when giving corner or goal kicks.

About the Ferdinand incident. I´ve never seen a penalty awarded for dangerous play. Why should this time be any different?

Anyway the teams were very very even. I´m not a fan of English football so I didn´t really root for either but atleast the game was exciting.

I think a Ferrari or a McLaren will win. :em31:
